"Aureol", built for Elder Dempster Lines by Alexander Stephen and Sons, Glasgow has length oa 538 ft, breadth 70 ft, depth 36 ft 6 in.; gross tonnage 14,083 tons, and 16 knots service speed; powered by two Stephen-Doxford 4-cyl, opposed piston oil engines, developing total of 9400 shp at 118 rpm; two manganese bronze propellers each weighing 7 3/4 ton and 16 ft in diam, are of Scimitar design; plan drawings.
