Buoy type station developed by National Bureau of Standards for Navy Bureau of Ships during World War II, reports weather variables, air and water temperature, air pressure, and wind speed and direction automatically and unattended; combination of two special devices permits inside of buoy to attain atmospheric pressure, yet prevents water from entering.
