In shearing machine built by Hugh Smith and Co, Glasgow, shear wheel is mounted on moving saddle and traverses length of fixed ledger blade bolted to table edge; has two separate shearing heads, one fixed vertically for straight shearing and other set at angle of 25°; heavy duty shearing machine to shear blades up to 1 1/4-in. thick and having auxiliary planing tool also described.
