Summary of efforts made by Germans to develop this type of armament during course of second world war; conclusions are: that mounting of gun is very difficult; inconveniences counterbalanced only by its low weight and small thrusts on structure; cartridge is much more bulky than that of orthodox gun firing at same velocity; if accuracy of rocket can be raised, recoilless gun may never be seen on aircraft.
