Report on use of Permafuse technique; inner surface of brake lining is first wetted with Permafuse cement; lining is then placed on brake shoe and group of 12 shoes is assembled in special clamping fixtures; assembly is baked for 30 min at 400 F to secure permanent bond between lining and shoe; following baking, linings are ground concentric with axis within tolerance of plus or minus 0.005 in.; performance data.
