Development during past 20 yr with reference to automatic equipment installed on elevators of London Underground railway system; between 1920 and 1925 large number of elevators were converted to landing control; cars carry 50 passengers each; master and individual auto control cabinets in Strand Station elevators, motor generator and exciter sets installed in Goodge Street Station elevators, and machinery and main control boards in Earls Court Station elevators, are illustrated.
