Missile development at end of World War II was equivalent to that of airplane at close of World War I; captured V-2 equipment was moved into White Sands Proving Ground, NM, where it has been assembled and V-2's used to carry heavy loads of scientific instruments, radar, and telemetering equipment, to secure missile data, investigate upper atmospheric conditions and phenomena, and to obtain aerodynamic data.
