Built at De Schelde yard, Flushing, for Holland-Dutch East Indies service; length bp 609 ft 10 in.; beam 82 ft; depth 54 ft 10 in.; draft loaded 29 ft 2 in.; propelled by eight main engines in two groups of four, each group driving propeller shaft through reduction gearing and ASEA electric slip couplings; Sulzer engines are 8-cyl, single acting, 2-stroke type, each developing 3375 bhp at 215 rpm.
