Current trends in use of asphalt for paving of highways; applications of asphalt to road construction, lining of ditches, curbs, gutters, and shore protection, elimination of bottlenecks, widening and resurfacing; it is concluded that highway improvement must be accomplished by reconditioning existing roads to higher efficiency, rather than building new roads on new locations.
