Curves relating block coefficient to length and speed suggested by various authorities are compared; author points out that beam has rarely been considered in this connection, and suggests curves by which this might be included; in selecting suitable block coefficient it is sometimes better to consider fore and after half-bodies separately rather than associate block coefficient with center of buoyancy.
