Vessel will be used for laying buoys and as lightship tender; built by Charles Hill and Sons, Bristol; length oa 266 ft; breadth 40 ft; depth 26 ft; propelled by two sets of triple expansion engines with cylinders 13 1/2 in. × 22 1/4 in. × 38 in. diam and stroke of 27 in.; steam supplied at 220 lb per sq in. by two 3-furnace Scotch boilers burning oil fuel on Wallsend-Howden system.
