It is shown how extreme conditions of speed and altitude are being duplicated; atmospheric conditions; subsonic wind tunnels, supersonic tunnels, and altitude chambers discussed; simulation of extremely high altitude conditions; cooling of aircraft cockpits and cabins; reference made to future research problems.
