Early flights of Boeing XB-47 indicated tendency for this airplane to Dutch Roll at lower indicated airspeeds; elimination of this condition accomplished through use of servomechanism termed " yaw damper," consisting of yaw rate gyro pickup which operates rudder to improve airplane damping in yaws.
