Design and aerodynamic characteristics of de Havilland Comet; DH 106 is low wing monoplane with thin wings and moderate sweepback necessitated by design requirement of high cruising speeds of 500 mph; low weight of Ghost jet engines allows great fraction of aircraft's allup weight to be utilized as fuel for given payload.
