Author believes that greatest degree of safety and economy in transport aircraft operation will be obtained through use of power plant units installed as "pods," isolated in so far as is practical from basic structure of aircraft; considerations which point to it as logical arrangement for jet powered transports; possible development for multi-engine aircraft would be droppable unit.
