On Nov 21 1948 three new sections of line were brought into public use for Central Line tube train operation, adding 10 mi to length of Central Line of London Transport; sections are from Greenford to West Ruislip, in west, which has involved new construction; and Woodford to Loughton, and Woodford via Grange Hill loop to Hainault, in east, both newly electrified sections of existing Eastern Region lines; layout diagrams presented.
