American C1A motor ship built at Pennsylvania Shipyards, Inc, in 1944, was purchased by British firm of Buries Markes, Ltd, and name changed from, Cape Ducato, to La Estancia; length oa 412 ft 3 in.; breadth molded 60 ft; depth molded to shelter deck 37 ft 6 in.; loaded draft molded 23 ft 6 in.; propelled by two 6-cyl Nordberg single acting, 2-stroke engines, each developing 2075 bhp at 220 rpm.
