Improvement program completed by Atlantic Coast Line Railroad at passenger station, Florence, SC, has resulted in increased efficiency in servicing passenger trains, improved station area drainage, reduced maintenance and greater safety; project confined to track and platform area, included new tracks, concrete platforms, interlocking, fueling and watering facilities for Diesel locomotives, and installation of pollution proof hydrants for watering coaches.
