Colony of Eritrea served by 95-cm line which climbs to 8000 ft from sea level in 70 mi; steam locomotives at present serviceable consist of eight 0-4-0 shunters, four 2-6-0s, seventeen 0-4-0+0-4-0 Mallets, and four 0-8-0s with axles; railway also possesses nine Fiat Diesel cars and two gasoline driven motor trolleys.
