Rig, "Offshore Mercury" is self-propelled, jack-up barge capable of drilling to 20,000 ft in 250 ft water depths; its barge hull will have length of 276 ft, overall beam of 130 ft, and hull depth of 22 ft, with 15 ft of normal draft; diesel electric prime movers of 8000 hp will power twin screws for self-propulsion; it will be able to sail for 45 days, or about 7000 mi, without replenishment, and without assistance from auxiliary vessels either during cruise or when positioning itself precisely on location.
