Instrument is described which uses line scan technique to scan scene in three widely spaced spectral regions and to produce image of scene in form of color photograph; spectral regions selected are 0.5 to 1.0 μ, 3.0 to 5.5 μ and 8.0 to 14.0 μ; these spectral regions are converted to blue, green, and red, respectively, in pictures; pictures are result of both reflected and self-emitted radiation from objects in scene; color of objects in picture indicates their temperature and also their reflective and emissive properties.
