Attempt is made to indicate nature of problem and possible lines of approach to determination of stresses caused by trend toward higher speeds; analysis of stresses imposed on truck frame caused by various loads and effect of different types of welded connections on stress concentrations; stress limit value for truck frame in presence of transverse welds is shown to be 3.8 ton/sq in.
