Graphical method for trading-off systems design (reliability) against systems operation (maintainability); class of nonredundant and " pay-as-you-go" systems, i.e. systems which are expensive and which can be maintained or repaired during mission at subsystem level is considered, e.g. aircraft carrier which usually has reasonable supply of spare parts and materials, maintenance or repair crew and some workshop facility.
