Extension of work on compaction process and best procedures to achieve 97% compaction of aggregates in all areas of Province of Ontario; effect of three different sizes of pneumatic-tired rollers on degrees of compaction achieved, effect of different tire pressures on compaction, and effect of various hot-mix variables on degree of compaction are studied; type of light pneumatic-tired roller used in study was equipped with 7.50×15 size tires pressurized to 55 to 60 psi; tire pressure could be changed by use of built-in compressor; it was operated at tire pressures of 60, 80 and 100 psi; roller was ballasted to provide wheel loading of 4000 to 8000 lb.
