Experiments were conducted in 100-lb-thrust uncooled rocket chamber firing into vacuum tank; special automatic system was used for precise timing of injection of three components, and reliable and repeatable testing conditions were established; optimum timing was determined, and three different ignition delays could be measured which characterized hypergolic ignition of hydrogen and subsequent ignition of main propellants; ignition proved to be very reliable, and only very small quantities of igniter liquid were required.
