Purpose of series of tests, performed by United Technology Center, was to investigate condensed-phase particle growth in rocket nozzle by particle collision and coalescence; particle collision-coalescence model proposed was used to analyze dependence of mass-median particle diameter on pressure level, nozzle scale, propellant metal content, and initial particle size and distribution; comparison of particle size calculation with experimental results; model for particle growth will provide particle size values needed for nozzle performance analysis.
