System for nondissipative control of mass-flow from solid propellant gas generator is proposed; primary hypothesis of system (that propellant gas efflux can be modulated through intercession of counter-flow heat exchanger that improves heat flux from gas to solid) is studied analytically and experimentally; significant changes in burning rate can be made to occur with rams of practical design and with acceptable values of pertinent parameters; system studies incorporating models of phenomena have indicated that constant-mass flow, despite environmental temperature, and demand flow gas generators are feasible.
