Combined effect of aerodynamic and gravity torques on stability of motion of passive satellites is investigated using Lyapuniv direct method; stable equilibrium positions are found for symmetric rigid satellites spinning in space and stability criteria for motion about these equilibrium positions derived; bounds of libration about equilibrium positions are determined; analysis is applied to two satellite configurations and can be extended to satellites of arbitrary configuration.
