Design features of ship, built at Whyalla shipyard and owned by Australian National Line, include hull, cargo, ballasting and bunker arrangements, hull fittings, navigation equipment, propulsion machinery, personnel accommodation, and automatic controls; sea trials were successfully completed on May 21 1966; when fully loaded to 38 ft draft it will carry nearly 48,000 tons of iron ore and over 1000 tons of fuel, stores and provisions; will make trips between Port Kembla and Yampi Sound at 16 knots average.
