First part of paper compares effect of using different wave spectra on ship motions of heave, pitch and relative bow motion; second part deals with broader aspects of ship motion predictions; comparison is made between computed motions in irregular head seas (using Series 60 response operators) and model results obtained from irregular wave experiments, together with some full-scale ship measurements; model and ship results are for variety of ship forms.
