Design features and functions of guidance computer used as navigational aid for lunar landing with Apollo space vehicle; using integrated circuits, computer will determine whether astronauts are on course and help them turn corners when time comes; during free-fall phases system determines state of vehicle, e.g. orbital elements, position or velocity which are part of open-loop navigation process; during powered phases system directly controls translation and rotation of vehicle; these are closed-loop guidance functions; characteristics of memories.
