Emergency Global Rescue Escape, and Survival System (EGRESS) design consists of B-58 aircraft ejection capsule with circular, folding heat shield added to rear; hydrogen peroxide, manual attitude control system is added, along with bleed-flow, expendable heat-sink environmental control systems; other features include active VHF communication link, 243-Mc distress beacon, retrothrust satellite timer, and 100-w/hr battery; externally, high-temperature material for clamshell door, retrorocket package, ejection rocket, low-power catapult, and drag stabilization system are added.
