Dynamics of Lunar Excursion Module following initial landing impact are examined; effects of assumed lunar surface model and important design features of alightment system are described; stability and energy absorption boundaries are established, and comparison is made between predicted boundaries and those obtained from test of 1/6-scale drop test model.
