General analysis of plane wave propagation across thin stratified plasma sheaths (for example, boundary layer on slender entry vehicles) is presented, including arbitrary polarization, incidence, and plasma properties; accurate slide-rule calculations of transmission and reflection can be made from approximate expressions for wide range of applications; parametric results are presented graphically, demonstrating salient effects and tradeoffs and providing reference for preliminary design analyses.
