Flight experience with variety of configurations has proven validity of overall concept, but has also highlighted characteristics where refinements are required; question of wing/rotor load sharing is discussed and method of controlling this parameter is described; roll control as produced by combined rotor and aileron inputs is considered and comparisons of test data are made with roll response of fixed-wing aircraft in speed range of compound.
