Disciplines of reliability engineering are finding increased use in meeting safety requirements for fixed and rotary wing aircraft; attempt is made to use mode of failure analysis, fail-safe concepts, derating to improve reliability, statistical analysis, statistical design of experiments, and feedback of service data to correct sources of unreliability.
