New fast reacting slip control system developed by Electro-Motive Division of General Motors called IDAC (Instantaneous Detection and Correction) which allows slipping wheel to regain train speed in average of 0.4 sec after slip begins; designed to correct slippage with minimal reduction of generator current, IDAC was made available as standard equipment with production line models of EMD's 40 and 45 series diesel locomotives and with new AR-10 a-c/d-c generator.
