United States Post Office Dept shares similar objective with air transportation industry in overcoming problems resulting from growth of air transportation and increasing congestion on ground; department is approaching problem on several fronts; it has undertaken modernization and expansion of most of its airport mail facilities to meet needs of airlift program; however, it must look to closer proximity to air terminals for major facilities and to systematic consideration of alternate means of transportation to and from air terminals; role of helicopter is considered.
