Ship of special design built by Oresundsvarvet AB, is first of series of five similar ships, four of which have been ordered from Oresundsvarvet and one from Charles Connel and Co (Shipbuilders) Ltd; series will form part of international joint service pool which will operate under name of Scanscot Freighters; Scandinavian vessels will have Gotaverken main diesel engine propulsion and British-built ship will be powered by Sulzer engine; length oa 574 ft 10 in., breadth molded 87 ft, depth molded 45 ft, summer draft 31 ft 1 5/8 in., dw 24,900 tons, block coefficient 0.78, grain cargo capacity 1, 226,550 cu ft and bale 1,198,795 cu ft; plan.
