Configurations for providing hydrostatic drives for wheels on truck comprise following types -- steerable-wheel, powered axle, fixed-powered wheel, powered axle; and prime drive-rear, front and rear; paper discusses some of drives, both fixed and steerable, and compares powered wheel concept with powered axle; some typical circuits and components are shown.
