Problems of efficient hypersonic flight of boost glide and air breathing vehicles are reviewed for areas of aerodynamics, stability and control, heating, and air ingestion; problems of interference between major vehicle components and internal flow problems of air breathers; types of air breathing engines; turbojet engine could be used up to velocity of 3000 fps, at which point ramjet with subsonic combustion velocities would take over and operate in 6- to 10,000-fps range where ramjet employing supersonic combustion velocities would become effective.
