Curtiss-Wright X-19 is tandem wing, tandem tilt propeller V/STOL aircraft having pay-load-range characteristics for military advanced missions; fore-aft propeller provides static lift when disks are in horizontal position, and lift and thrust during conversion and cruise flight; tandem propeller configuration enables powerful control moments to be generated at hover and low speed flight; longitudinal, lateral and yaw control at hovering; takeoff performance and hovering handling characteristics; flight characteristics during conversion and conventional flight.
