Kennedy, built by Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding Corp for Port of Newark, NJ, can operate in 3 ft of water and thus maneuver near flaming shoreside structures and other shallow water areas; length oa 46 ft 3 in., molded beam 15 ft 3 in., maximum draft 3 ft, speed 15 mph; 2 Palmer gasoline engines of 300-hp each are used for propulsion and 2 for operating 2 pumps each rated 2000 gpm at 150 psi; both water and foam are available, and fixed CO2 system is installed.
