Method was developed by which ultimate bearing capacity of flexible pavements can be evaluated; method is based on assumption that subgrade soils are fully saturated and that wheel loads causing failure are applied so rapidly that no change in water content takes place during loading; calculated ultimate bearing capacity was compared to that determined by method proposed by K.A.Linell; good agreement was found between two methods.
