During 1963, United States yards completed 35 large merchant vessels aggregating 417,966 gross tons, 527,169 dw tons, employing 522,322 hp of diesel and geared turbine propelling machinery; tables show data for ships of over 200 gross tons, 100-2000 gross tons, nonpropelled craft, conversions and repairs, and production in previous years.
