Principles of celestial navigation on earth are extended to develop space navigation system suitable for manual operation by human observer; system uses conventional sextant sights and tabular calculations; nonambiguous positional information can be obtained readily; method of improving accuracy of data by means of multiple sights and by refined instruments; methods of using data to determine departures from desired path.
