Work on gaseous environment for spacecraft, with attention to oxygen management, toxicity, and environment selection is surveyed; methods for managing oxygen -- open cycle, physical separation, absorption of CO2 by expendable chemicals, sorption of CO2 by regenerable sorbents, simultaneous absorption of CO2 and production of oxygen, and closed and semiclosed ecological cycles; each of methods is considered; oxygen recovery on moon; selection of gaseous environment; details of various pressure suits.
