Preparation of lunar exploration lies in two areas; first relates to knowledge concerning space and lunar environment, and second to development of systems necessary for extended manned spaceflight; outline of 3 specific programs to provide data on moon itself; with information gained from Ranger, Surveyor, and Lunar Orbiter Photographic spacecraft, it will be possible to perform first manned landing on moon; unmanned landing guidance; types of logistic-vehicle design investigated; unmanned lunar exploration support.
