Spacecraft of future will consist of large modules which will be assembled in orbit; mating plane between 2 large pressurized modules, and portable air-lock concept for emergency use in spacecraft operations; design of mating plane covers mechanical coupling device for securing pressurized modules to each other, seal configuration, hatch design, and temporary end closure for sealing ends of modules; use of portable air-lock concept as emergency entry into pressurized spacecraft in which normal air lock has been damaged, and other applications.
