Purpose of program is to establish techniques for rendezvous and docking of space vehicles, to be used in other space programs, such as lunar orbit rendezvous (Apollo), earth orbital rendezvous (deep space), space stations, statellite inspection and repair missions; operational rendezvous technique is established, and flow diagram of possible steps in operational mission from launch to docking phase shown; rendezvous parameters; 2 mechanical docking simulators, at Langley Research Center and McDonnell Aircraft Corp, will be used to provide docking experience; selection of Agena space-stabilized vehicle which can be maneuvered in orbit as target vehicle.
